Low welfare eggs from caged hens are flooding the UK. Caged hens also known as supposedly enriched caged hens are not only from overseas but are sadly still kept in these conditions in the UK.
At Woodgreen shop we are pleased to say the eggs we supply to you are produced locally from small well-managed free range flocks. Food for these hens are supplied by local farms using local food therefore providing minimal food miles and importantly a short supply trail.
We prefer our egg suppliers to look more like these lucky ladies.
