We’re proud to say that 25% of our produce is grown, raised or made within 30 miles of the shop. We now have over 60 local suppliers and the list continues to grow.

Meat and fish

We have regular meat supplies from Hale Pig & Poultry and also Mays of Fordingbridge. When it’s available, we offer Home Farm beef (raised in Hale). There’s also whole rainbow or brown trout, along with delicious trout pâté from New Forest Smokery and Trout Farm. We also are now stocking produce from Charlies Smokehouse, a local company providing smoked salmon, smoked trout, trout  fishcakes and smoked chicken.

Dairy

Our milk is local: Freshways and Ivy Farm from Frome. We have local cheese supplies from Lyburn Farm and Crook and Churn, and Rosary Goat’s Cheese, all tasty and of great quality.

Bakery

We have regular bread deliveries from local suppliers, Cottage Loaf, and stock a wide range of other loaves and baked goods. We also have deliveries of lovely sourdough bread from Bakehouse24 (deliveries on Tuesday and Friday).

Vegetarian and vegan

We have an extensive range of vegetarian & vegan produce including ready-made meals and desserts from Gourmade and Eat.Plnt. We also sell vegan ice cream!

Fruit and veg

Our shelves are healthily stocked with a host of fresh fruit and veg replenished by deliveries throughout the week.

Wine and beer

The Shop boasts an extensive selection of wines from all around the world. We have regular discounts and bin-end offers. Our great range of beers includes long-standing favourites from Ringwood, Downton and Hopback Breweries: all local breweries with excellent reputations. We have a great selection of premium lagers and cider drinkers are not forgotten either, with a good stock of New Forest Cider.

We have an extensive range of spirits including gin and vodka from Downton Distillery (including handy refill packages). We also stock Twisted Nose and Conker.

Cards and gifts

We have a wonderful selection of greetings cards for all occasions. We also stock postcards and notelets depicting local scenes, woodcrafts, ceramics and a range of other gift ideas.

Ice cream

On a warm and sunny summer afternoon, thoughts turn to ice cream, and we have a huge selection for your delectation! Sorbets, dairy ice cream and dairy free – we even have a choice of ice cream for dogs!

And the rest…

We have all the usual groceries including breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, tinned and dried produce, pasta, rice, flours, sugars, cooking oil, butter, eggs, pulses, spices, condiments, toilet rolls, detergents, toothpaste, biscuits and cakes. We also sell frozen ready meals and pizzas, confectionery, cigarettes, vapes, basic medicines and toiletries.
